What are your interests outside squash and why?

All other sports! I’m a typical sports fan and will watch most events that are on the TV.

If you could take any 3 people to an island who would it be and why?

I would take Andy Murray because I’m a big fan… Jamie Oliver, because a man has got to eat well and my girlfriend because the chances are she will be reading this and I would like to stay out of the dog house!!!

Do you have any rituals or superstitions before a match or tournament?

Actually I do, but they never stay the same! Usually at the start of the tournament I’ll do something that sticks with me before my first match and if I go on to win that match then I will have to do it before the next one! For example… filling up my water bottle from the same tap, tying my shoelace a certain way and it can even stretch to using a particular urinal again! I’m not proud of some of them so we will leave it at that!

If you were president/prime minister what would be the first thing you do?

I would demand that squash was shown on all the major TV channels around the country at prime time!

Who do you consider the favourite to take home the Australian Open?

If I was to put my money on someone, it would probably be the top seed and home favourite Cameron Pilley – however I can think of a few names who will be looking to upset that outcome, including myself!

What can we expect from you at the Australian Open?

A little bit of variety in using the whole of the front wall to good use, hopefully!
